Curious how people get those awesome deals at Walgreens? 

Well here's how : They offer rewards for shoppers called

Register Rewards (RR):   They are coupons that you get when you purchase a Walgreen's deal for selected items. Follow the weekly ad or my posts to see what RR's are being offered.   These deals  print from a machine called a Catalina ( you may see this at other stores too, including Stop & Shop).  They can NOT be used in the same transaction but they CAN be used on the second transaction. This is why you will see posts about breaking up your order into separate transactions.

Walgreens has their own coupons that you will find in both monthly coupon booklets right when you walk in the store and in the circular. YOU CAN STACK THESE WITH MANUFACTURERS COUPONS!

Some fun facts about how to use these RR's

-You can not keep using RR's to get the same deal . So, that means, if you receive a Register Reward on an item, you can not turn around and purchase the exact same item, use the Register Reward and get another one generated.  

-Only one Register Reward generates per transaction.  So if a RR is offered on a product you can not buy 2 of the product and get double the rewards in one transaction. If you want multiple Register Rewards, you will need to complete multiple transactions.  

- The total number of manufacturer’s coupons  and RR's can not exceed the total number of items purchased.  So, if you have 5 coupons you will need 5 items! This is when you may need to use  a "filler" item. Filler item = Small very low priced item added to the cart to make sure you have the same amount of items as coupons. Like a piece of Candy! 

-Register Rewards expire.  They are only good for 2 weeks, so make sure to watch the dates and use them before you lose out on your savings.

Take away tip: To maximize savings and  spend as little as possible out of pocket, you will need to perform separate transactions. You can do as many transactions in a row as you would like!
